Project updates

Roermond, The Netherlands - 20 May 2019. Sif Holding n.v. will manufacture two monopiles for the Two Towers Borssele V innovation site. A number of innovations will be applied in the project such as a slip joint connection, seabed protection and a full aluminum sprayed coating.

On 2 May, Sif and Kvaerner signed a contract for the production of 36 leg sections, 16 pile sleeves, and 16 piles for the P2 jacket of the Johan Sverdrup project.

Haliade-X 12 MW

Rotterdam, Netherlands; April 1st, 2019. – Future Wind (the Joint Venture between Pondera Development and SIF Holding Netherlands) organized a symbolic ground-breaking event that took place in Maasvlakte, Rotterdam, to celebrate the start of preparatory activities to host GE’s Haliade-X 12 MW prototype in Maasvlakte, Rotterdam.

On 7 May, the jacket of Valhall Flank West was installed at sea using the Thialf crane vessel operated by Heerema.

Sif supports innovative Vibro-drill

Sif believes it is important to support projects that help make energy production more sustainable. At Maasvlakte, GBM Works is working together with partners on a pilot that tests a new, sustainable, and cost-effective method of installing monopiles that are used as the foundations for wind turbines. Sif has made a test plate and test site available for the pilot.
