Dragados Offshore from Spain and Sif Netherlands b.v. have signed a contract for the supply of legs, caissons, and piles for the two jackets of the Tyra Future Development Project. Both jackets will be installed in the Danish part of the North Sea, 225 km west of Esbjerg. Together they contain more than 10 Kton of steel, while the piles contain 8 Kton of steel.
The board of Norther Wind Farm visits the Sif factory where the transition pieces and monopiles are fabricated. Koen Baeten, QA manager Norther: ‘Monopiles of 8 meter diameter, 80 meters long and total weight of 1000 tonnes: that is really impressive’!
The Thialf, the world's largest crane vessel, is transporting piles to the Johan Sverdrup oil field for the construction of the 2nd platform, the Drilling Platform.
On 25 May the load-out of the DOT monopile took place at the Sif quay-side on Maasvlakte II. The deepwater construction vessel (DCV) Aegir of Heerema Marine Contractors has loaded and installed this special monopile together with the customer Delft Offshore Turbine and their subcontractor CAPE Holland.

Roermond, the Netherlands 20 April 2018. Sif Holding N.V. announces today that it has been awarded the production of 77 monopiles (68 Kton) for the Borssele III & IV offshore wind farm. Borssele III & IV is developed by a consortium (Blauwwind II) comprising Shell, Eneco, Van Oord, and Diamond Generating Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. The contract has been awarded by Van Oord as the EPCI contractor for the project and is subject to financial close.
