Tuesday the 31th October we had a visit from the board members and management of Norther Offshore Wind Farm. The shareholders in this project are all parties with the necessary expertise and experience in developing renewable energy projects.  Norther is ultimately owned by three parties: Elicio, Eneco, and Diamond Generating Europe.

At this time Sif is halfway with the production of the primary steel of the transition pieces and is starting production of the monopiles at our Roermond factory.  By the end of November assembly of cans and cones is planned at Maasvlakte 2.

The Norther team got an extensive tour of the SIF production facilities and took a closer look on how the project takes further shape.  During the tour SIF gave explanation on the different giant elements that are produced by SIF and they also had a look at a flange that makes the connection between the monopile and the transition piece and between the transition piece and the wind turbine. The monopiles have dimensions between 7.2 and 7.8.

All the monopiles are being coated and stored at Maasvlakte 2. The complete foundations are complete are delivered FAS (Free Alongside Ship) from the 1st May 2018 to be picked up by installation vessel Aeolus from Van Oord. This will be the first time that a Dutch installation vessel will load out from the Maasvlakte.
