Sif to manufacture all monopiles for the Borssele III

Roermond, the Netherlands 20 April 2018. Sif Holding N.V. announces today that it has been awarded the production of 77 monopiles (68 Kton) for the Borssele III & IV offshore wind farm. Borssele III & IV is developed by a consortium (Blauwwind II) comprising Shell, Eneco, Van Oord, and Diamond Generating Europe, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation. The contract has been awarded by Van Oord as the EPCI contractor for the project and is subject to financial close.

BLUE Piling Technology by Fistuca is an innovative technology that uses a combusted gas mixture to propel a column of water upwards. The column of water pushes the monopile down as it shoots up and drives the monopile further into the sea floor as it falls back down. The pile-driving technology produces much lower noise levels than conventional pile-driving and also minimizes fatigue to the foundation. The project will result in a direct reduction to the costs of installing wind turbines.

A joint venture of Sif Netherlands B.V. and Smulders Projects N.V. has signed a Preferred Supplier and Early Works Agreement for the design and fabrication of 90 monopiles and transition pieces as well as 2 foundations for substations for the Triton Knoll offshore wind farm.

Tuesday the 31th October we had a visit from the board members and management of Norther Offshore Wind Farm. The shareholders in this project are all parties with the necessary expertise and experience in developing renewable energy projects.  Norther is ultimately owned by three parties: Elicio, Eneco, and Diamond Generating Europe.

The first load-out of four MPs and four TPs for the Rentel wind farm was scheduled for Wednesday 19 July, but the operation was postponed due to the bad weather forecast. The Innovation vessel was eventually loaded on 20 July and departed the same day. Today, on 25 July, Innovation is expected to moor at the deep-sea quay near Sif's premises, where it will be loaded with three MPs and three TPs.
