Late June 2015, the jacket for the new Statoil-operated Gina Krog platform was launched on the field in the Norwegian part of the North Sea. The video above shows the jacket being lowered into the sea.
Since 1995, Dragados Offshore and Sif have often worked together. The Britannia Project in the United Kingdom, Ekofisk and Eldisk Main/Bridge in Norway, South Arne East/North in Denmark, and the Castor PUQ jacket in Spain are several offshore projects that were successfully completed in recent years. Sif was responsible in these projects for the manufacturing of, amongst other things, the tubulars, jacket leg sections, pile sleeves, and piles.
The DanTysk offshore wind farm, situated directly on the German-Danish border, is the first large-scale offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. With a total of 80 wind turbines, DanTysk is able to provide green energy for up to 400.000 homes. Sif is responsible for the production of 80 monopiles and transition pieces with a diameter up to 6.0 meters and 64.7 meters in length.
