Serial production of monopiles up to 7.8 meters

In the future, the length and the diameters of the monopiles will continue to increase because wind farms will be located further out at sea, in deeper water and with more powerful turbines. Sif Group has anticipated this at an early stage by expanding its existing production capacity. Serial production of monopiles up to 7.8 meters in diameter started in Roermond in April 2014. But this is not all.

The DanTysk offshore wind farm, situated directly on the German-Danish border, is the first large-scale offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. With a total of 80 wind turbines, DanTysk is able to provide green energy for up to 400.000 homes. Sif is responsible for the production of 80 monopiles and transition pieces with a diameter up to 6.0 meters and 64.7 meters in length.

Foundation piles for new offshore wind farm under construction in Roermond

Sif Group in the city of Roermond is working hard on the production of 43 steel foundation piles for the Eneco Luchterduinen Wind Farm. Ultimately, these piles will be installed 23 kilometers off the coast between Noordwijk and Zandvoort. What makes these foundation piles special is the fact that the wind turbines will be mounted directly on top of them, representing an innovative new technique which has only previously been applied in a relatively small number of cases.
