Marshalling & Logistics

At Maasvlakte 2, Sif offers extensive marshalling and logistics support for offshore wind projects and related industries. Thanks to our strategic location with direct sea access and a heavy-duty deep-sea quay, we seamlessly facilitate storage, pre-assembly, handling and shipment of offshore components. This service forms the crucial link between production and offshore installation of wind farm foundations.

We respond to the growing demand for “close-to-sea” assembly and transshipment locations, especially for the larger and heavier components of the next-generation wind farms.

Our terminal is designed for the efficient and safe movement, storage and loading of foundation structures such as monopiles and transition pieces. In collaboration with partners, we also offer solutions for the decommissioning of offshore wind farms and the sustainable reuse of steel.

Offshore wind foundations are made of high-grade steel, which is highly suitable for reuse. At Sif, we are developing solutions to recover and reprocess used monopiles and other components. Together with partners such as Dillinger Hütte, we are taking steps towards a circular supply chain – from low-emission steel to the reuse of existing foundation parts. This is how we help close the loop in offshore wind.

Our strong logistics position enables us to fully support customers in both installation and decommissioning projects.

Our strong logistics position enables us to fully support customers in both installation and decommissioning projects.

We offer:

  • Marshalling services: Efficient storage and preparation of monopiles, transition pieces and other offshore components close to the installation site.
  • Logistics support: Complete project logistics including lifting operations, transport via SPMTs and site management.
  • Sustainable solutions: Prepared for future decommissioning: we offer space for storage and sustainable reuse of components from dismantled offshore wind farms.
  • Circular collaboration: We work with supply chain partners on solutions for reusing steel and other materials, as part of our ESG objectives.
