Joint industry projects
At Sif, we believe that we achieve more together. Which is why we are members of various partnerships that focus on innovation.
Sif is a co-founder of GROW
GROW is a joint research programme that accelerates offshore wind energy innovation. The programme offers activities that focus on research, design and development. The consortium comprises around twenty leading partners who cooperate closely and conduct joint research. Short lines of communication, trust and knowledge exchange are among the reasons for GROW’s success.
The GROW partners are working together to reduce the costs of offshore wind energy and add value to the energy system. GROW increases the visibility of the research projects and the partners involved and represents the interests of its partners with respect to research and policy. The consortium also promotes collaboration with small and medium enterprises and with higher education.
GROW is about:
- Implementing a joint research programme
- Accelerating innovations
- Starting follow-up activities early
- Developing new partnership opportunities
- Representing the partners’ interests
- Promoting collaboration in areas of common interest
GROW has three objectives:
- Reduce the costs of offshore wind energy in the short and medium term
- Create added value for the energy system and collaboration with other maritime sectors (oil and gas, fishing, shipping, tourism, ecology and nature)
- Strengthen the Dutch offshore wind sector
Current GROW projects include:
- Corrosion Fatigue Life Optimisation (C-FLO)
- Gentle Driving of Piles (GDP)
- Gentle Driving of Piles 2.0 (GDP 2.0)[MK1]
- Hydraulic Pile Extraction Scale Tests (HyPE-ST)
- Hydraulic Pile Extraction Scale Tests 1.2 (HyPE-ST1.2)
- Slip Joint Offshore Research project (SJOR)
- Sustainable Installation of XXL Monopiles (SIMOX)
- Bolt and beautiful
Sif: partner of Wind & Water Works
The Dutch government and private parties have joined forces to design, develop, install and maintain high-quality wind farms in the North Sea. Together, we show that offshore wind energy can be a powerful and cost-effective solution to our climate objectives. This approach offers project developers greater assurance, increases investor confidence and reduces the total costs of wind energy. Teamwork, close collaboration and innovation enable us to ensure that every wind farm has a secure and sustainable future. We are happy to share our knowledge with others.
Wind & Water Works (WWW) reflects the expertise and professional approach of Dutch companies and the government to offshore wind energy. The Netherlands has centuries of experience in working offshore and this knowledge has resulted in a successful Dutch offshore wind energy supply chain. In this chain, small and large companies collaborate with global leading knowledge institutes to continue developing innovative solutions for offshore wind farms.
WWW aims for collaboration to utilise the full potential of offshore wind energy and show the world that wind and water energy really work.
